Inspired by our late co-founder's simple but powerful motto, Together We Can, Hayley has turned those three words into thousands of determined steps for everyone affected by Marfan syndrome. Alongside her son James, she's taking those steps all the way to the Dundee Kiltwalk on 16 August. Read Hayley's story!

On Sunday 16th August, my son James and I are taking part in the Kiltwalk- the 20-mile mighty stride. We hope to raise as much as we can for the Marfan trust. We have many family members who have the condition, many of whom have had Aortic Valve  surgery. 

My Grandmother Marion had Marfan syndrome and this was first detected in my family back in the 1980’s. She became an active fundraiser and supporter for the Marfan Association as which it was known at that time. She was in regular contact with the remarkable Diane Rust and was inspired by her commitment and dedication. 

As many of you may know Diane’s motto was “Together We Can” and it is so important to continue this to give hope for the future.
