Death can arrive silently, unheralded. Throughout Marfan Awareness Month we have heard stories of young people lost suddenly to undiagnosed Marfan syndrome. Yet the signs were there all along; a seemingly routine visit to the ENT ward for an ear infection that won’t clear up was an opportunity to pick up the tell-tale features of Marfan syndrome – the height, the stretch marks, the crowded teeth. Our Trustee Dr Nitha Naqvi describes what to watch for as a medic, and how in doing so you can save a life.
