In moving to its new, larger home, the Marfan Trust can continue its precious research into Marfan syndrome. But it is desperate need of help. As a niche charity supporting a niche condition, we are struggling in this uniquely difficult period. We are launching an appeal of £5,000 and hope you are able to support us in continuing our ground breaking research. Without this additional funding, the Trust’s research risks grinding to a halt. Please help by donating to us now.

The Marfan Trust is the sole UK charity dedicated to funding medical research projects that aid the diagnosis and treatment of Marfan syndrome patients. The results of our internationally recognised research enable doctors and surgeons to provide better treatment for patients in the short and long term.

Highlights from our Revolutionary Research:

Formed international consortium to identify Marfan gene 1991
Were the first UK laboratory to provide research reports of 100 gene mutations
Helped set up 22 national regional Marfan clinics, now in major NHS hospitals
Co-funded successful five year AIMS trial together with British Heart Foundation

We need your help now more than ever. Help us to help you. A small donation can make a massive difference to the lives of those affected by Marfan syndrome and their families.

£10 will provide the laboratory with chemicals to screen an entire family for Marfan syndrome

£30 will fund the cost of 1 freezer sample storage rack

£50 will fund a sets of PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) plates each containing a set of 25 plates. These are used for PCR and handling liquids in small quantities.
