Our Next Generation of Scientists

This year we welcome four new BSC students to the Sonalee Laboratory: Michael Garcia, Brenda Wohlner, Andriana Masoha and Emilia Stanczyk from both Kingston and Brunel Universities. They will be working in the Sonalee Laboratory for one year alongside Sonalee Laboratory Director, Dr José Aragon-Martin, for their sandwich placement year in between their second and third year of university.

During their year with the Marfan Trust, they will be analysing blood samples in the Laboratory for the Marfan gene and seeing where the mutation descends from. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to get some hands on experience in a real life laboratory before they finish their studies.

Unfortunately, due to limited funding, the students have to work here completely for free. In addition, we are unable to cover their travel expenses, none of which is ideal. If you feel you would like to sponsor the students for their time here and the hard work they put into Marfan research, please do contact Dr Aragon Martin on 020 8725 5885 or email: jaragon@sgul.ac.uk.
